Odom is a research group leader at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute at the University of Cambridge. Odom’s group is interested in understanding the molecular basis behind the regulatory evolution of tissues, species and cancer. They typically begin their studies using liver and liver cancer as model systems. Their interest in transcriptional regulation encompasses the roles of transcription factors, insulator elements, non-coding RNAs and repetitive elements. The group has used Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) extensively and is now incorporating CRISPR/Cas9 and single cell sequencing technologies into their ongoing projects.
