Calling all early career life scientists

Are you (or do you know) early career life science researchers? Keep reading! Here is why you should visit NWO Life2023.

Present your research on a poster

NWO Life is attended by a broad range of early career and experienced life scientists, but also representatives from life science oriented companies and organisations. In the video below our host, Sietze Norder, explains why you should visit NWO Life. During the poster sessions you are visible at a national level, with an audience of scientists from a variety of fields. The conversational atmosphere helps you connect with researchers in both your own and other fields of life sciences. In doing so, you are also practising scientific communication. So, make sure to submit your abstract before the deadline on 13 April!

Connect and gain knowledge

Meet fellow life scientists and get in touch with future collaborators. Chat with companies, or visit the demo projects to learn more about several large scale research infrastructures that are accessible to the Dutch research community.

Naturally, the programme is jam-packed with interesting speakers. Keynote speakers are Tracy Bale and Frans de Waal, and per track we have a session with invited speakers. Visit the parallel sessions to learn more about all different disciplines in the life sciences. In addition, there are several in depth workshops you can attend.

Because it is fun and affordable

Besides the scientific programme, there is more to explore. NWO Life takes place in Hotel Zuiderduin right at the North Sea beach, in a beautiful dune area. The hotel offers everything for a great stay. In the evening we will have a pub quiz, drinks, live music and bowling. To recharge your battery and start the second day fresh again, you can go for a guided walk in the dunes on Wednesday morning.

The fee you pay for all of this is just a small one: if you attend both days the contribution for MSc students is set at €60, PhD candidates and postdocs pay €120, and other participants €180 per person. The prices include catering and accommodation for one night.
